Lie Groups and Lie Algebras, chapter VI, § 1. Root systems

Let BB be a basis of RR, and GG the subgroup of A(R)A(R) consisting of the elements leaving BB stable. Then W(R)W(R) is a normal subgroup of A(R)A(R) and A(R)A(R) is the semi-direct product of GG and W(R)W(R).

If α∈R\alpha \in R and t∈A(R)t \in A(R), then tsαt−1=st(α)ts_\alpha t^{-1} = s_{t(\alpha)}; since W(R)W(R) is generated by the sαs_\alpha, we see that W(R)W(R) is a normal subgroup of A(R)A(R). By transport of structure, A(R)A(R) transforms a basis of RR to a basis of RR. Since W(R)W(R) acts simply-transitively on the set of bases, every element of A(R)A(R) can be written uniquely in the form g1g2g_1 g_2, where g1∈W(R)g_1 \in W(R) and g2∈Gg_2 \in G.

Bourbaki puts the proof directly after the statement, so what is above is the statement and its proof together.
