General Topology, chapter I, § 2. Continuous functions

Let ff be a mapping of a topological space XX into a topological space X′X'. If ff is continuous at xx, and if xx lies in the closure of a subset AA of XX, then f(x)f(x) lies in the closure of f(A)f(A).

Let V′V' be a neighbourhood of f(x)f(x) in X′X'. Since ff is continuous at xx, f‾−1(V′)\overline{f}^{-1}(V') is a neighbourhood of xx in XX. Hence f‾−1(V′)\overline{f}^{-1}(V') meets AA, from which it follows that V′V' meets f(A)f(A), and therefore f(x)f(x) is in the closure of f(A)f(A).

Bourbaki puts the proof directly after the statement, so what is above is the statement and its proof together.
