General Topology, chapter II, § 3. Complete spaces

Let U1,U2\mathfrak{U}_1, \mathfrak{U}_2 be two uniformities on a set XX, and let T1,T2\mathfrak{T}_1, \mathfrak{T}_2 be the topologies induced by these uniformities respectively. Suppose that U1\mathfrak{U}_1 is finer than U2\mathfrak{U}_2, and that there is a fundamental system of entourages for U1\mathfrak{U}_1 which are closed in X×XX \times X in the topology T2×T2\mathfrak{T}_2 \times \mathfrak{T}_2. Then a filter F\mathfrak{F} on XX converges in the topology T1\mathfrak{T}_1 if and only if it is a Cauchy filter in the uniformity U1\mathfrak{U}_1 and converges in the topology T2\mathfrak{T}_2.

The conditions are clearly necessary, because T2\mathfrak{T}_2 is coarser than T1\mathfrak{T}_1. Conversely, suppose that the conditions are satisfied, and let xx be a limit point of F\mathfrak{F} with respect to T2\mathfrak{T}_2; we shall show that xx is a limit of F\mathfrak{F} with respect to T1\mathfrak{T}_1. Let VV be a symmetric entourage of U1\mathfrak{U}_1 which is closed in the topology T2×T2\mathfrak{T}_2 \times \mathfrak{T}_2. By hypothesis, F\mathfrak{F} contains a set MM which is V-small; hence if x′∈Mx' \in M we have M⊂V(x′)M \subset V(x'). But V(x′)V(x') is closed in the topology T2\mathfrak{T}_2; hence xx, which lies in the closure of MM with respect to T2\mathfrak{T}_2, must belong to V(x′)V(x'). It follows that M⊂V^(x)M \subset \hat{V}(x), and the proposition is proved.

Bourbaki puts the proof directly after the statement, so what is above is the statement and its proof together.
