General Topology, chapter II, § 3. Complete spaces

If XX is a Hausdorff uniform space, then the canonical mapping i:X→X^i : X \to \hat{X} is an isomorphism of XX onto a dense subspace of X^\hat{X}.

When XX is Hausdorff, X^\hat{X} is said to be the completion of XX, and we generally identify XX with a dense subset of X^\hat{X} by means of ii.

Bourbaki puts the proof directly after the statement, so what is above is the statement and its proof together.
