General Topology, chapter III, § 6. Topological groups with operators; topological rings division rings and fields

A topological division ring is a set KK carrying a division ring structure and a topology compatible with the ring structure of KK, and satisfying in addition the following axiom:

(KT) The mapping x→x−1x \to x^{-1} of K∗K^* into K∗K^* is continuous.

A commutative topological division ring is called a topological field.

A division ring structure and a topology on a set KK are said to be compatible if the corresponding ring structure and the topology are compatible and if in addition axiom (KT) is satisfied.

Bourbaki puts the proof directly after the statement, so what is above is the statement and its proof together.
