General Topology, chapter IV, § 5. Real-valued functions

Let ff and gg be two real-valued functions defined on a set XX filtered by a filter F\mathfrak{F}. If lim⁡Ff\lim_{\mathfrak{F}} f and lim⁡Fg\lim_{\mathfrak{F}} g exist, and if, for each subset A∈FA \in \mathfrak{F}, there exists x∈Ax \in A such that f(x)≤g(x)f(x) \leq g(x), then we have lim⁡Ff≤lim⁡Fg\lim_{\mathfrak{F}} f \leq \lim_{\mathfrak{F}} g.

To prove this result we shall prove the following equivalent statement:

Bourbaki puts the proof directly after the statement, so what is above is the statement and its proof together.
