General Topology, chapter IV, § 5. Real-valued functions

The upper limit of a real-valued function ff with respect to a filter G\mathfrak{G} is equal to the largest cluster value of ff with respect to G\mathfrak{G}.

Let bb be a cluster point of ff with respect to G\mathfrak{G}. For each M∈GM \in \mathfrak{G}, bb lies in the closure of f(M)f(M), hence b≤sup⁡x∈Mf(x)b \leq \sup_{x \in M} f(x), and therefore, by (12), b≤lim⁡sup⁡Gf=a.b \leq \lim \sup_{\mathfrak{G}} f = a.

On the other hand, let VV be any open neighbourhood of aa in R‾\overline{\mathbf{R}}. Then there exists a set M0M_0 in G\mathfrak{G} such that, for each M∈GM \in \mathfrak{G} contained in M0M_0, we have sup⁡x∈Mf(x)∈V\sup_{x \in M} f(x) \in V; since VV is open it follows that f(M)f(M) meets VV, and therefore aa is a cluster point of ff with respect to G\mathfrak{G}, and the proof is complete.

Bourbaki puts the proof directly after the statement, so what is above is the statement and its proof together.
