General Topology, chapter V, § 1. Subgroups and quotient groups of R

The topological group R/aZ\mathbf{R}/a\mathbf{Z} (a>0a > 0) is called the additive group of real numbers modulo aa. The topological group R/Z\mathbf{R}/\mathbf{Z} is denoted by T\mathbf{T}. As a topological space, T\mathbf{T} is called the one-dimensional torus (by abuse of language, the topological group T\mathbf{T} is also called the one-dimensional torus).

Bourbaki puts the proof directly after the statement, so what is above is the statement and its proof together.
