General Topology, chapter IX, § 6. Polish spaces, Souslin spaces, Borel sets

Every locally compact, metrizable space XX is Polish.

Let XX be the compact space obtained by adjoining a point at infinity to XX; X′X' is metrizable and of countable type (§2,§ 2, no. 9, Corollary to Proposition 16), and XX is complete with respect to its unique uniformity (Chapter II, §4,§ 4, no. 1, Theorem 1). Hence XX is a Polish space; since XX is open in X′X', it follows that XX is Polish.

Bourbaki puts the proof directly after the statement, so what is above is the statement and its proof together.
