General Topology, chapter IX, § 6. Polish spaces, Souslin spaces, Borel sets

In a Lusin space XX, every Borel set is a Lusin subspace of XX.

Let T\mathfrak{T} be the set of all subsets AA of XX such that both AA and ∁A\complement A are Lusin subspaces of XX. Since every closed set and every open set in XX is a Lusin subspace of XX (no. 4), T\mathfrak{T} contains all closed subsets of XX, and the lemma will therefore be proved if we can show that T\mathfrak{T} is a σ\sigma-algebra on XX. For this it is enough to show that if (An)(A_n) is a sequence of sets of T\mathfrak{T}, then ⋂nAn\bigcap_n A_n and ⋃nAn\bigcup_n A_n are Lusin subspaces of XX. Now we have seen in no. 4 that every countable intersection of Lusin subspaces is a Lusin subspace. On the other hand, if BnB_n is the intersection of AnA_n and ⋂i<n∁Ai\bigcap_{i < n} \complement A_i, it follows from the hypothesis and the preceding remark that BnB_n is a Lusin subspace; and since ⋃nAn=⋃nBn\bigcup_n A_n = \bigcup_n B_n, the subspace ⋃nAn\bigcup_n A_n is a Lusin subspace by Lemma 2 of no. 4.

Bourbaki puts the proof directly after the statement, so what is above is the statement and its proof together.
