Commutative Algebra, chapter VIII, § 1. Dimension de Krull d’un anneau

If (Xα)α∈A(X_\alpha)_{\alpha \in A} is an open covering, or a locally finite closed covering, of a topological space XX, one has

dim⁡(X)=sup⁡α∈Adim⁡(Xα). \dim(X) = \sup_{\alpha \in A} \dim(X_\alpha).

It is enough to prove that, for every point xx of XX, one has dim⁡x(X)=sup⁡α∈Axdim⁡x(Xα)\dim_x(X) = \sup_{\alpha \in A_x} \dim_x(X_\alpha), where AxA_x is the set of α∈A\alpha \in A such that x∈Xαx \in X_\alpha. This is clear in the case of an open covering, and follows from Prop. 1, c), in the case of a locally finite closed covering.

Bourbaki puts the proof directly after the statement, so what is above is the statement and its proof together.
