Commutative Algebra, chapter VIII, § 2. Dimension des algèbres

Let AA be an integrally closed ring, and BB a ring containing AA, integral over AA. Assume that BB is a torsion-free AA-module. For every ideal aa of AA, one has ht⁡(a)=ht⁡(aB)\operatorname{ht}(a) = \operatorname{ht}(aB). Let bb be an ideal of BB and a=b∩Aa = b \cap A; one then has ht⁡(a)=ht⁡(b)\operatorname{ht}(a) = \operatorname{ht}(b).

Posons p=q∩Ap = q \cap A. On a a⊂pa \subset p, d’où ht⁡(a)≤ht⁡(p)\operatorname{ht}(a) \leq \operatorname{ht}(p). Soit p0⊂...⊂pnp_0 \subset ... On a n≤ht⁡(q)n \leq \operatorname{ht}(q), d’où ht⁡(a)≤ht⁡(q)\operatorname{ht}(a) \leq \operatorname{ht}(q). En passant à la borne inférieure on obtient ht⁡(a)≤ht⁡(aB)\operatorname{ht}(a) \leq \operatorname{ht}(aB) (§1§ 1, No. 3, Prop. 7). L’inégalité ht⁡(aB)≤ht⁡(a)\operatorname{ht}(aB) \leq \operatorname{ht}(a) résulte du Theorem 1, d’où la première equality. Soit bb un idéal de BB. Posons a=ρ−1(b)a = \rho^{-1}(b). On a aB⊂baB \subset b, d’où ht⁡(a)=ht⁡(aB)≤ht⁡(b)\operatorname{ht}(a) = \operatorname{ht}(aB) \leq \operatorname{ht}(b).

Bourbaki puts the proof directly after the statement, so what is above is the statement and its proof together.
