Commutative Algebra, chapter VIII, § 3. Dimension des anneaux noethériens

Let AA be a noetherian ring and aa an ideal of AA. Suppose that AA is separated and complete for the aa-adic topology, and consider the ring R=A{X1,...,Xn}R = A \{ X_1, ..., X_n \} of restricted formal power series (III, §4§ 4, No. 2, Definition 2). Then dim⁡(R)=dim⁡(A)+n\dim(R) = \dim(A) + n. In fact, RR is the completion of the ring B=A[X1,...,Xn]B = A[X_1, ..., X_n] for the aBaB-adic topology, whence dim⁡(R)⩽dim⁡(A[X1,...,Xn])=dim⁡(A)+n\dim(R) \leqslant \dim(A[X_1, ..., X_n]) = \dim(A) + n. The inverse inequality is proved as in the case of formal power series.

Bourbaki puts the proof directly after the statement, so what is above is the statement and its proof together.
