Commutative Algebra, chapter VIII, § 5. Anneaux locaux réguliers

Let kk be a field, A=k[[X1,...,Xn]]A = k[[X_1, ..., X_n]] and qq an ideal of AA, distinct from AA. In order that A/qA/q be regular, it is necessary and sufficient that one can find an integer r⩾0r \geqslant 0 and elements F1,...,FrF_1, ..., F_r of AA, generating qq, and such that the matrix (∂Fi∂Xj(0,...,0))\left( \frac{\partial F_i}{\partial X_j}(0, ..., 0) \right) be of rank rr ("jacobian criterion"). One then has dim⁡(A/q)=n−r\dim(A/q) = n - r.

Bourbaki puts the proof directly after the statement, so what is above is the statement and its proof together.
