Commutative Algebra, chapter IX, § 4. Fermeture intégrale d'un anneau local complet

Let AA be a noetherian ring, xx an element of AA, MM a finitely generated AA-module, and pp a prime ideal of AA associated with MM. Suppose that the homothety xMx_M is injective. Let qq be a prime ideal of AA, minimal among those containing p+xAp + xA. Then qq is associated with the AA-module M/xMM/xM.

Let NN denote the submodule of MM formed by the elements mm such that pm=0pm = 0. We have N∩xM=xNN \cap xM = xN; in fact, if an element mm of MM is such that pxm=0pxm = 0, then pm=0pm = 0 since xMx_M is injective, hence m∈Nm \in N. Consequently, the AA-module N/xNN/xN is isomorphic to the submodule (N+xM)/xM(N + xM)/xM of M/xMM/xM, and it is enough to prove that qq is associated with N/xNN/xN. Since pp is associated with MM, there exists an element mm of MM such that p=Ann(m)p = \mathrm{Ann}(m); we have m∈Nm \in N, whence p=Ann(N)p = \mathrm{Ann}(N) and therefore Supp(N/xN)=V(p+xA)\mathrm{Supp}(N/xN) = V(p + xA) by II, § 4, No. 4, corollary to prop. 18; consequently, qq is associated with N/xNN/xN (IV, § 1, No. 4, th. 2).

Bourbaki puts the proof directly after the statement, so what is above is the statement and its proof together.
