Commutative Algebra, chapter X, § 2. Modules et anneaux macaulayens
Let be a homomorphism of rings, and let . Let us denote by the ring . It may be identified with , where is the multiplicative subset of ; the prime ideals of are therefore the ideals , where is a prime ideal of containing and not meeting , in other words a prime ideal of lying over . For such an ideal , one has , hence the local ring of at may be identified with , that is to say again with .
Analogously, if is a -module, the -module may be identified with . Suppose moreover that the -module is finitely generated; by Nakayama's lemma, the condition is equivalent to . Thus the support of the -module consists of the ideals , where runs through the prime ideals of lying over . In particular, in order that the module be nonzero, it is necessary and sufficient that there exist a prime ideal of lying over .
Bourbaki puts the proof directly after the statement, so what is above is the statement and its proof together.
