Commutative Algebra, chapter X, § 2. Modules et anneaux macaulayens

Let ρ:A→B\rho : A \to B be a homomorphism of noetherian rings making BB into a flat AA-module. The following conditions are equivalent:

(i) BB is a Macaulay ring; (ii) for every prime ideal qq of BB, the rings Aρ−1(q)A_{\rho^{-1}(q)} and κ(ρ−1(q))⊗AB\kappa(\rho^{-1}(q)) \otimes_A B are Macaulay rings; (iii) for every maximal ideal nn of BB, the rings Aρ−1(n)A_{\rho^{-1}(n)} and κ(ρ−1(n))⊗AB\kappa(\rho^{-1}(n)) \otimes_A B are Macaulay rings.

If moreover BB is faithfully flat over AA, these conditions imply that AA is a Macaulay ring.

This is the special case M=AM = A, N=BN = B of prop. 9.

Bourbaki puts the proof directly after the statement, so what is above is the statement and its proof together.
