Commutative Algebra, chapter X, § 3. Profondeur et dimension homologique

Let AA be a noetherian ring and nn an integer ⩾0\geqslant 0. If mm and m′m' are two distinct maximal ideals of AA, the AA-modules ExtAn(A/m,A/m′)\mathrm{Ext}_A^n(A/m, A/m') and TornA(A/m,A/m′)\mathrm{Tor}_n^A(A/m, A/m') are annihilated by m+m′m + m', hence are zero. By a proof analogous to that of Corollary 1 of Proposition 4, one deduces from Proposition 5 the equivalence of the following conditions:

(i) one has dh(A)<n\mathrm{dh}(A) < n ; (ii) one has ExtAi(M,N)=0\mathrm{Ext}_A^i(M, N) = 0 and ToriA(M,N)=0\mathrm{Tor}_i^A(M, N) = 0 for every pair (M,N)(M, N) of AA-*modules and every integer* i⩾ni \geqslant n ; (iii) one has TornA(A/m,A/m)=0\mathrm{Tor}_n^A(A/m, A/m) = 0 for every maximal ideal mm of AA ; (iv) one has ExtAn(A/m,A/m)=0\mathrm{Ext}_A^n(A/m, A/m) = 0 for every maximal ideal mm of AA ; (v) one has dpA(A/m)<n\mathrm{dp}_A(A/m) < n for every maximal ideal mm of AA.

In particular, one has dh(A)=sup⁡mdpA(A/m)\mathrm{dh}(A) = \sup_m \mathrm{dp}_A(A/m), where mm ranges over the set of maximal ideals of AA.

Bourbaki puts the proof directly after the statement, so what is above is the statement and its proof together.
