Commutative Algebra, chapter X, § 3. Profondeur et dimension homologique

A ring AA is said to be a Gorenstein ring if it is noetherian and if the AmA_m-module AmA_m is of finite injective dimension for every maximal ideal mm of AA.

For a noetherian local ring AA to be a Gorenstein ring, it is necessary and sufficient that diA(A)\mathrm{di}_A(A) be finite; for a noetherian ring AA to be a Gorenstein ring, it is necessary and sufficient that this be so for AmA_m for every maximal ideal mm of AA.

Bourbaki puts the proof directly after the statement, so what is above is the statement and its proof together.
