Commutative Algebra, chapter X, § 10. Cohomologie locale, dualité de Grothendieck
Let be a local Macaulay ring, and a nonzero finitely generated -module, of dimension . The -module is nonzero.
By Remark 2 of No. 1, one may suppose that the local ring is complete. In this case has a dualizing module (, No. 3, Corollary 3 of Proposition 6); if is zero, the same is true of its Matlis dual , which contradicts Proposition 3, b) of , No. 1.
Bourbaki puts the proof directly after the statement, so what is above is the statement and its proof together.
