Algebra, chapter IX, § 2. Discriminant d'une forme sesquilinéaire

Let Φ\Phi be a sesquilinear form for JJ on EE, and let SS be a basis of EE. The following conditions are equivalent:

a) The mapping sΦs_\Phi from EE into E∗E^* associated with Φ\Phi is bijective.

b) The mapping dΦd_\Phi from EE into E∗E^* associated with Φ\Phi is bijective.

c) The element DΦ(S)D_\Phi(S) is invertible in AA.

Indeed condition c) expresses that the matrix of Φ\Phi with respect to SS is invertible (Chapter III, § 6, No. 5, Th. 2). Thus c) is equivalent to a) (§1,§ 1, No. 10); similarly c) is equivalent to b).

Bourbaki puts the proof directly after the statement, so what is above is the statement and its proof together.
