Algebra, chapter IX, § 7. Formes hermitiennes et corps ordonnés

One assumes that A=KA = K or A=K(i)A = K(i) and that EE is finite-dimensional. Let Φ1,Φ2\Phi_1, \Phi_2 be two positive hermitian forms on EE, and let V=(αij),W=(βij)V = (\alpha_{ij}), W = (\beta_{ij}) be the matrices of these forms with respect to the same basis (ei)(e_i) of EE. Show that the hermitian form Φ\Phi whose matrix (γij)(\gamma_{ij}) with respect to (ei)(e_i) is such that γij=αijβij\gamma_{ij} = \alpha_{ij}\beta_{ij} for every pair of indices, is positive; moreover, if Φ1\Phi_1 and Φ2\Phi_2 are non-degenerate, the same is true of Φ\Phi. (In the calculation of Φ(x,x)\Phi(x, x), express the αij\alpha_{ij} in terms of the values Φ1(ci,ci)\Phi_1(c_i, c_i) for an orthogonal basis (ci)(c_i) of EE relative to Φ1\Phi_1.)

Bourbaki puts the proof directly after the statement, so what is above is the statement and its proof together.
