General Topology, chapter IX, Appendix 1. Espaces de Lindelöf

Every regular Lindelöf space is paracompact.

Soit XX a regular Lindelöf space, and R\mathscr{R} an open covering of XX. For every x∈Xx \in X, let Ux∈RU_x \in \mathscr{R} containing XX, and let VxV_x be an open neighbourhood of xx such that Vx⊂UxV_x \subset U_x. Since XX is a Lindelöf space, there exists a sequence (xn)n≥0(x_n)_{n \geq 0} of points of XX such that the VxnV_{x_n} form a covering of XX. Put then, for every integer n≥0n \geq 0, Wn=Uxn∩∁(⋃k<nVxk)W_n = U_{x_n} \cap \complement \left( \bigcup_{k < n} V_{x_k} \right). The sets WnW_n are open and form a covering of XX finer than R\mathscr{R}. On the other hand, this covering is locally finite, since every x∈Xx \in X belongs to some VxiV_{x_i} for at least one ii; then VxiV_{x_i} is a neighbourhood of xx, which meets no set WnW_n for n>in > i.

Bourbaki puts the proof directly after the statement, so what is above is the statement and its proof together.
