Let $A$ be a noetherian ring, $a$ an ideal of $A$ distinct from $A$, $\hat{A}$ the separated completion of $A$ for the $a$-adic topology. If $A/a$ is a Nagata ring, then $\hat{A}$ is a Nagata ring. (Use Exercise 19.)
