Commutative Algebra, VIII, p. 99
Let A be a ring, p a graded prime ideal of A[T] and p0 the prime ideal p∩A of A. (a) If T∈p, then p=p0+T.A[T]. (b) If T∈/p, then p=p0.A[T]. (c) Deduce that, in case (a) one has htgr(p)=ht(p0)+1, and in case (b), one has htgr(p)=ht(p0). (d) Now prove that dimgr(A[T])=dim(A)+1. (e) Deduce an example of a graded ring B such that dim(B)=dimgr(B) (p. 84, exerc. 7).
