Commutative Algebra, VIII, p. 99
Let A be a ring, and F=(Fi)i∈Z a decreasing filtration of A such that Fi=A for i≤0. Let A be the subring ⨁i∈ZFi.v−i of A[v,v−1] and let grF(A) be the graded ring associated with the filtered ring (A, F). (a) Prove that the homomorphism f:A→grF(A) defined by f(∑iaiv−i)=∑iai, where ai is the class of ai in Fi/Fi+1, induces an isomorphism of A/v.A with grF(A). (b) Prove that for every invertible element v0 in A, the homomorphism ev0:A→A defined by
ev0(∑aiv−i)=∑aiv0−i induces an isomorphism of
A/(v−v0)A with A. (c) Prove that
A/A[v] is a
A[v]-module of torsion. (d) Assuming now that A contains a field k, prove that the composed morphism
k[v]→A[v]→A(where A[v]=i≤0⨁Fi.v−i) makes
A a
k[v]-module without torsion. Deduce that
A is a
k[v]-module flat. (e) Suppose that A is local, with maximal ideal
m, and contains a field
k such that A is direct sum of
k and
m (as additive group). Prove that there exists an ideal S of
A such that
A is direct sum of
k[v] and S (we have set
Fi=mi for every
i∈Z).
