Bourbaki marks this one as harder than the rest.
Let be a noetherian local ring, admitting a dualizing module ; let be a finitely generated -module, of finite projective dimension.
a) Proving that one has for . (Reason by induction on , by considering an exact sequence where is a finitely generated free module. If is a cancellable element of , deduce from the induction hypothesis that is zero for , which entails for , and that the homothety of ratio is injective in , which entails that every prime ideal associated with is a minimal ideal of ; observe that at such a the -module is free).
b) Proving that the -module has finite injective dimension.
c) Proving that the mapping defined by for is an isomorphism (reduce, with the aid of a projective resolution, to the case where is free).
d) The mappings and define reciprocal bijections of one another between the set of isomorphism classes of finitely generated -modules and of finite injective dimension and the set of isomorphism classes of finitely generated -module and of finite projective dimension, \* and quasi-inverse equivalences of categories between the corresponding categories *.
