Exercise 8, § 8
General Topology, IV, p. 63
Prove now that there cannot exist a non-constant mapping from an interval into the set of sequences of natural integers, which, for every , has the following property: for every integer , there exists a neighbourhood of in such that, for every , the first terms of the sequence are identical to the first terms of the sequence (note that this would entail the continuity of , when each of the factors is provided with the discrete topology, and with the product of these topologies).
