a) Let $G =\mathbf{R}$. The set Pos$_1(G)$ is not compact for the weak topology.

b) Let $G =\mathbf{R}/\mathbf{Z}$. The weak topology on Pos$_{\leqslant 1}(G)$ does not coincide with the topology of compact convergence.
