Exercise 5, § 2

Commutative Algebra, V, 363

Let KK be a field; in the polynomial domain K[X,Y]K[X, Y] in two indeterminates consider the subrings A=K[X4,Y4],A′=K[X4,X3Y,XY3,Y4]A = K[X^4, Y^4], A' = K[X^4, X^3Y, XY^3, Y^4]; AA is Noetherian and A′A' is a finite AA-algebra. Let p=AY4p = AY^4, which is a prime ideal of AA; show that m=A′X4+A′X3Y+A′XY3+A′Y4m = A'X^4 + A'X^3Y + A'XY^3 + A'Y^4 is an (immersed) prime ideal associated with the ideal pA′pA' of A′A' but does not lie above pp (note that mm is the annihilator of the class of X2Y6X^2Y^6 in the ring A′/pA′A'/pA') (cf. § 1, Exercise 26 (d)).
