Commutative Algebra, VII, 546

Let KK be a field and (vi)i∈I(v_i)_{i \in I} a family of discrete valuations on KK satisfying conditions (AKI_I) and (AKIII_{III}) of no. 3 and such that, for every integer rr, every family (nh)1≤h≤r(n_h)_{1 \leq h \leq r} of rational integers and every family (th)1≤h≤r(t_h)_{1 \leq h \leq r} of distinct elements of II, there exists x∈Kx \in K such that vth(x)=nhv_{t_h}(x) = n_h for 1≤h≤r1 \leq h \leq r and vi(x)≥0v_i(x) \geq 0 for ii distinct from the tht_h. Show that the intersection of the valuation rings of the viv_i is a Krull domain AA whose field of fractions is KK and that (vi)i∈I(v_i)_{i \in I} is the family of essential valuations of AA. (Show first that KK is the field of fractions of AA and hence that AA is a Krull domain; then prove that for all i∈Ii \in I the prime ideal of AA consisting of those xx such that vi(x)>0v_i(x) > 0 is necessarily of height 1, arguing by reductio ad absurdum and using Corollary 2 to Proposition 6 of no. 4.)
