Let EE and FF be two vector spaces over a field KK and uu a linear mapping of EE into FF. If VV is a vector subspace of EE and V′V' the orthogonal of VV in E∗E^*, show that the dual of u(V)u(V) is isomorphic to tu(F∗)/(V′∩tu(F∗)){}^t u(F^*)/(V' \cap {}^t u(F^*)). If W′W' is a subspace of F∗F^* such that tu(W′){}^t u(W') is finite-dimensional and WW is the orthogonal of W′W' in FF, tu(W′){}^t u(W') is isomorphic to the dual of the space u(E)/(W∩u(E))u(E)/(W \cap u(E)).
