Algebra, II, 406

Let AA be an integral domain, KK its field of fractions, EE an AA-module and T(E)T(E) its torsion module.

(a) Show that every linear form on EE is zero on T(E)T(E), so that the duals E∗E^* and (E/T(E))∗(E/T(E))^* are canonically isomorphic.

(b) Show that the canonical mapping (E∗)(K)→(E(K))∗(E^*)_{(K)} \to (E_{(K)})^* is injective and that it is bijective when EE is finitely generated.

(c) Give an example of a torsion-free AA-module EE such that E∗={0}E^* = \{0\} and E(K)≠{0}E_{(K)} \neq \{0\}.
