Algebra, IV, p. 89

A rational fraction f \in K(X_1, X_2, ..., X_r) is said to be homogeneous if it is equal to the quotient of two homogeneous polynomials (the denominator being \neq 0). Show that for f to be homogeneous it is necessary and sufficient that

f(ZX1,ZX2,...,ZXn)=Zdf(X1,...,Xn) f(ZX_1, ZX_2, ..., ZX_n) = Z^d f(X_1, ..., X_n)

where d is the degree of f.
