Algebra, V, p. 153

Let KK be a field, ff an irreducible polynomial in K[X]K[X], separable over KK and of degree nn and let αi (1≤i≤n)\alpha_i \ (1 \leq i \leq n) be its roots in an algebraic closure Ω\Omega of KK. Let gg be a polynomial in K[X]K[X], and hh an irreducible factor in K[X]K[X] of the polynomial f(g(X))f(g(X)). Show that the degree of hh is a multiple rnrn of nn and that hh has exactly rr roots in common with each of the polynomials g(X)−αi (1≤i≤n)g(X) - \alpha_i \ (1 \leq i \leq n) of Ω[X]\Omega[X] (consider the conjugates over KK of a root of hh).
