Algebra, V, p. 153

a) Let KK be a field, Ω\Omega an algebraic closure of KK and E,FE, F two subextensions of Ω\Omega. Show that every composite extension of EE and FF (V, p. 12) is isomorphic to a composite extension of the form (Lw,1,w)(L_w, 1, w), where ww denotes a KK-isomorphism of FF onto a subfield of Ω\Omega, 11 is the identity mapping of EE and LwL_w is the subfield of Ω\Omega generated by E∪w(F)E \cup w(F). b) Deduce from a) that if FF is of finite degree nn over KK, there are at most nn composite extensions of EE and FF that are pairwise non-isomorphic. c) Suppose that EE is a quasi-Galois extension of KK and FF a subextension of EE. Show that every composite extension of EE and FF is isomorphic to a composite extension of the form (E,1,v)(E, 1, v), where vv is a KK-isomorphism of FF onto a subfield of EE.
