Theory of Sets, IV, 291

Let A, B be two sets endowed with structures S\mathscr{S}, S′\mathscr{S}' of the same species Σ\Sigma. Let ff be a morphism of A into B, and let gg be a morphism of B into A. Let M (resp. N) be the set of all x∈Ax \in \mathrm{A} (resp. y∈By \in \mathrm{B}) such that g(f(x))=xg(f(x)) = x (resp. f((g)y)=yf((g)y) = y). Suppose that S\mathscr{S} (resp. S′\mathscr{S}') induces on M (resp. N) a structure of species Σ\Sigma. Show that M and N, endowed with these structures, are isomorphic.
