Topological Vector Spaces, III, p. 42

Let TT be a metrizable topological space, EE a topological vector space which is a Baire space, and MM a family of mappings from E×TE \times T into a topological vector space FF, satisfying the following conditions : 1° for all t0∈Tt_0 \in T, the set of all mappings x↦f(x,t0)x \mapsto f(x, t_0) where ff runs through MM, is an equicontinuous set of linear mappings from EE into FF; 2° for all x0∈Ex_0 \in E, the set of all mappings t↦f(x0,t)t \mapsto f(x_0, t) from TT into FF, where ff runs through MM, is equicontinuous. Show that MM is equicontinuous. (Given t0∈Tt_0 \in T and a closed balanced neighbourhood VV of 0 in F, for every x∈Ex \in E, let dxd_x be the upper bound of the radii of all open balls with center t0t_0 in T such that, for an arbitrary point tt in one of these balls, we have f(x,t)−f(x,t0)∈Vf(x, t) - f(x, t_0) \in V for all f∈Mf \in M. Show that x↦dxx \mapsto d_x is upper semi-continuous at every point x0∈Ex_0 \in E; for this, show that if we had dx>α>dx0d_x > \alpha > d_{x_0} for points arbitrarily close to x0x_0, then for every neighbourhood W of 0 in F, f(x0,t)−f(x0,t0)f(x_0, t) - f(x_0, t_0) would belong to V+WV + W for d(t,t0)≤αd(t, t_0) \leq \alpha and f∈Mf \in M. Finally use GT, IX, § 5, No. 4, th. 2.)
