Topological Vector Spaces, III, p. 41

a) Let E1,E2,FE_1, E_2, F be three topological vector spaces (over R\mathbf{R} or C\mathbf{C}). Let ff be a continuous linear mapping from E1E_1 into E2E_2, and S1\mathfrak{S}_1 (resp. S2\mathfrak{S}_2) a family of bounded subsets of E1E_1 (resp. E2E_2), such that f(S1)⊂S2f(\mathfrak{S}_1) \subset \mathfrak{S}_2. Show that u↦u∘fu \mapsto u \circ f is a continuous linear mapping from LS2(E2;F)\mathscr{L}_{\mathfrak{S}_2}(E_2 ; F) into LS1(E1;F)\mathscr{L}_{\mathfrak{S}_1}(E_1 ; F). b) Let E,FE, F be two topological vector spaces, and MM be a vector subspace of EE. Let ff be the canonical map from EE onto E/ME/M, and S\mathfrak{S} be a family of bounded subsets of EE. Show that the mapping u↦u∘fu \mapsto u \circ f is an isomorphism from Lf(S)(E/M;F)\mathscr{L}_{f(\mathfrak{S})}(E/M ; F) onto the subspace of LS(E;F)\mathscr{L}_{\mathfrak{S}}(E ; F) consisting of those continuous linear mappings from EE into FF which are null on MM.
