Topological Vector Spaces, III, p. 42

Let EE be a topological vector space, with a set of bounded subsets of S\mathfrak{S}. Let (Gi)i∈I(G_i)_{i \in I} be a family of topological vector spaces, and FF be a vector space (over the same field of scalars as EE and the GiG_i); for every i∈Ii \in I, let gig_i be a linear mapping from FF into GiG_i. Suppose FF is assigned the coarsest topology for which the gig_i are continuous. Show that the S\mathfrak{S}-topology on L(E;F)\mathscr{L}(E; F) is the coarsest topology for which the linear mappings u↦gi∘uu \mapsto g_i \circ u from L(E;F)\mathscr{L}(E; F) into L(E;Gi)\mathscr{L}(E; G_i) are continuous. In particular, if F=∏i∈IGiF = \prod_{i \in I} G_i, the product space ∏i∈IL(E;Gi)\prod_{i \in I} \mathscr{L}(E; G_i) is canonically identified with LS(E;F)\mathscr{L}_{\mathfrak{S}}(E; F).
