Exercise 9, § 1

Integration, VII, p. 79

Adopt the notations of the proof of Th. 1 of No. 2. Let β\beta be the unique left Haar measure on GG such that β(f0)=1\beta(f_0) = 1. Show that, for every f∈K(G)f \in \mathscr{K}(G), Ig(f)I_g(f) tends to β(f)\beta(f) with respect to B\mathscr{B}. (Let aa be a cluster point of g↦Ig(f)g \mapsto I_g(f) with respect to B\mathscr{B}. There exists an ultrafilter U\mathscr{U} finer than B\mathscr{B} such that Ig(f)I_g(f) tends to aa with respect to U\mathscr{U}. On the other hand, Ig(f)I_g(f) tends to β(f)\beta(f) with respect to U\mathscr{U}.)
