Integration, VIII, p. 60

Let GG be a locally compact group, HH a closed subgroup of GG, and UU a continuous linear representation of HH in a locally convex space EE. Let KK be a compact subset of GG. Let KU(K)\mathscr{K}^U(K) be the space of continuous functions on GG, with values in EE, with support contained in KHKH, and satisfying f(xh)=U(h)−1f(x)f(xh) = U(h)^{-1}f(x) (x∈G,h∈Hx \in G, h \in H). Let KU\mathscr{K}^U be the union of the KU(K)\mathscr{K}^U(K), equipped with the direct limit topology of the topologies of uniform convergence in KK on each of the spaces KU(K)\mathscr{K}^U(K). For f∈KUf \in \mathscr{K}^U and s∈Gs \in G, define V(s)f∈KUV(s)f \in \mathscr{K}^U by

(V(s)f)(t)=f(s−1t). (V(s)f)(t) = f(s^{-1}t).
Show that VV is a continuous linear representation of GG in KU\mathscr{K}^U.
