Let VV be a finite-dimensional vector space over KK and zz an endomorphism of VV. We adopt the notation zqpz_q^p of Exercise 3 of § 3. An endomorphism z′z' of VV is called a replica of zz if for all pp and qq every zero of zqpz_q^p is a zero of zqp′z_q^{p'}. Show that if Tr⁡(zz′)=0\operatorname{Tr}(zz') = 0 for every replica z′z' of zz, then zz is nilpotent. (Use the proof of Lemma 3. In the notation of this proof, prove in particular that tt is a replica of zz.)
