Lie Groups and Lie Algebras, I, 102

Let gg be a Lie algebra, rr its radical and (a0,a1,…)(a_0, a_1, \ldots) a sequence of ideals of gg defined as follows: (1) a0={0}a_0 = \{0\}; (2) ai+1/aia_{i+1}/a_i is a maximal commutative ideal of g/aig/a_i. Let pp be the smallest integer such that ap=ap+1=⋯a_p = a_{p+1} = \cdots. Show that r=apr = a_p. (Show that g/apg/a_p is semi-simple.)
