Algebra, VIII, p. 169

Let A be a ring, a\mathfrak{a} a two-sided ideal of A contained in R\mathfrak{R}(A), let ee and e′e' be idempotents in A, and let ee and e′e' their classes in the ring A=A/aA = A/\mathfrak{a}. Prove that if the idempotents ee and e′e' are equivalent (VIII, p. 39, Exercise 5), then so are ee and e′e' (observe that AeAe is a projective cover of the A-module AeAe).
