Algebra, VIII, p. 176, § 10. Modules over an Artinian Ring

Let A be a left Artinian ring and r\mathfrak{r} its radical. Let P be a projective A-module.

a) The A-module P‾=P/rP\overline{P}= P/\mathfrak{r}P is semisimple, and the A-module P is isomorphic to ⨁λ∈SPλ([P:λ])\bigoplus_{\lambda\in\mathscr{S}}P^{([P:\lambda])}_{\lambda}.

b) Let (Qi)i∈I(Q_i)_{i\in I} be a family of indecomposable projective submodules of P with direct sum P. Then for every λ∈S\lambda \in \mathscr{S}, the cardinal of the set I(λ)I(\lambda ) of i∈Ii\in I such that QiQ_i is isomorphic to PλP_{\lambda} is equal to [P:λ][P :\lambda ].

The fact that P‾\overline{P} is semisimple follows from Proposition 2 (VIII, p. 174). The A-module Q=⊕λ∈SPλ([P:λ])Q =\oplus_{\lambda\in\mathscr{S}}P^{([P:\lambda])}_{\lambda} is projective. Since Pλ/rPλP_{\lambda}/\mathfrak{r}P_{\lambda} is isomorphic to SλS_{\lambda}, the quotient Q/rQQ/\mathfrak{r}Q is isomorphic to ⊕λ∈SSλ([P:λ])\oplus_{\lambda\in\mathscr{S}}S^{([P:\lambda])}_{\lambda}, that is, to P‾=P/rP\overline{P}= P/\mathfrak{r}P. By Proposition 5, the A-modules P and Q are isomorphic.

Suppose given a family (Qi)i∈I(Q_i)_{i\in I} of projective and indecomposable submodules with direct sum P. By Proposition 5, the A-module Qi/rQiQ_i/\mathfrak{r}Q_i is simple for every i∈Ii\in I. For λ∈S\lambda \in \mathscr{S}, denote by I(λ)I(\lambda ) the set of i∈Ii\in I such that Qi/rQiQ_i/\mathfrak{r}Q_i is isomorphic to SλS_{\lambda}, hence to Pλ/rPλP_{\lambda}/\mathfrak{r}P_{\lambda}; it is also the set of i∈Ii\in I such that QiQ_i is isomorphic to PλP_{\lambda}. Since P‾=P/rP\overline{P}= P/\mathfrak{r}P is the direct sum of the family (Qi/rQi)i∈I(Q_i/\mathfrak{r}Q_i)_{i\in I}, we have Card(I(λ\lambda )) =[P:λ]= [P :\lambda ] by Theorem 1 of VIII, p. 32.

Bourbaki sets the proof directly after the statement, and the corpus does not separate them, so what is above is the statement and its proof together.
