Algebra, VIII, p. 233, § 13. Absolutely Semisimple Algebras
Let A be an absolutely semisimple K-algebra and L an algebraically closed extension of K. Then the algebra is isomorphic to a product of finitely many matrix algebras over L.
The L-algebra is semisimple; it is therefore isomorphic to a product of finitely many algebras of the form , where is a field containing L in its center and an integer (VIII, p. 137, Remark 1).
Let be an extension of L. Since the K-algebra A is absolutely semisimple, the ring is semisimple and therefore left Artinian. Now, the ring is isomorphic to , hence to ; by Proposition 5 of VIII, p. 7, each of the rings is therefore left Artinian.
Let be an integer and B a ring. Let be a decreasing sequence of left ideals of B; denote by the set of square matrices of order with entries in . Then is a decreasing sequence of left ideals of . In particular, if the ring is left Artinian, then so is B.
By the above, for every and every extension of L, the ring is left Artinian. By Lemma 2, we have for every , which implies Lemma 3.
We will use the following lemma to prove the implication (i)(vi).
Bourbaki sets the proof directly after the statement, and the corpus does not separate them, so what is above is the statement and its proof together.
