Algebra, VIII, p. 351

Let B be an algebra of finite degree over the commutative field K, and let bb be an element of B.

a) If bb is nilpotent, then we have TrM/K(b)=0_{M/K}(b) = 0 for every B-module M of finite dimension over K. Deduce that if bb belongs to the radical of B, then we have TrM/K(bc)=0_{M/K}(bc) = 0 for every c∈Bc\in B.

b) Prove that if TrS/K(bc)=0_{S/K}(bc) = 0 for every simple B-module S and every c∈Bc\in B, then bb belongs to the radical of B (use the density theorem).
