Algebra, VIII, p. 408, § 21. Linear Representations of Finite Groups
Let be a linear representation of G. By Maschke’s theorem, the K[G]-module V is semisimple. For any , denote by the isotypical component of type of the K[G]-module V; we have . By Proposition 15 of VIII, p. 147 and formula (17), the projector of V with image associated with this decomposition of V is equal to
Applying this formula to , we obtain that the element of K is not zero. We will see further on (VIII, p. 420, Corollary 2) that divides the cardinal of G.
Let be an element of . The mapping from K[G] to End induces an isomorphism of , K[G])-bimodules from to End. By Proposition 15 of VIII, p. 147, the K[G]-submodule is the isotypical component of K[G] of type . It is also the isotypical component of type for the right regular representation of G (VIII, p. 143, Proposition 11) as well as the isotypical component of type for the biregular representation (VIII, p. 381, Proposition 4).
Bourbaki sets the proof directly after the statement, and the corpus does not separate them, so what is above is the statement and its proof together.
