Algebra, VIII, p. 416, § 21. Linear Representations of Finite Groups

Let L be an extension of Q\mathbf{Q}. Let A be a subring of L. Suppose that A is a finitely generated Z\mathbf{Z}-module. We have A∩Q=ZA\cap \mathbf{Q}=\mathbf{Z}.

Since the Z\mathbf{Z}-module A∩QA\cap \mathbf{Q} is finitely generated, there exists a strictly positive integer N such that A∩QA\cap \mathbf{Q} is contained in 1NZ\frac{1}{N}\mathbf{Z}. Let xx be an element of Q−Z\mathbf{Q}-\mathbf{Z}; we write it as x=pqx=\frac{p}{q}, where pp and qq are mutually prime integers and q⩾2q\geqslant 2. We have qN⩾2N>N(q^N\geqslant 2^N>N (Set Theory, III, §3, No. 6, p. 165, Theorem 2), the integers pNp^N and qNq^N are mutually prime, and consequently xN∉1NZx^N\notin\frac{1}{N}\mathbf{Z}. It follows that xx does not belong to A. This concludes the proof of the lemma.

In the next subsection, we extend Proposition 9 to the case when we only assume that the characteristic of K does not divide the order of G.

Bourbaki sets the proof directly after the statement, and the corpus does not separate them, so what is above is the statement and its proof together.
